It’s been a very unproductive week and a half for me, as far as writing goes. I had to deal with a cold that kept me down for a few days, but now I’m back up and running.
It did, however, give me some time to mull over a few things, and I spent the best part of the past couple of days organizing my notes. With four series in the works, including more Mercerian books, and all of them take place in the same world, I think it’s safe to say I’ve got plenty more writing to do in the future.
So what is in the works, you ask? I am currently busy on a new series called The Frozen Flame. The first book, Ashes, is about 1/3 complete. There are also two short stories that tell the origins of the two main characters, but they’re not required to start the book, they just add a little more background.
I’ve also completed a novelette called The Call of Magic, that tells Albreda’s origin story. It is currently in the hands of the BETA readers and should be moving into final formating in a few weeks. Meanwhile, Fate of the Crown was released today! I must say it’s nice to be a little ahead for a change.
My new stories take place in a distant land, compared to Merceria, but within the same world. That means a new calendar and a new religion, and it’s already been hinted at in the Heir to the Crown series. The calendar was easy enough as it uses the same days but starts in a different year. Thus we have 1102 SR, the SR stands for Saints Reckoning, and dates from the founding of this new religion, which I am busy detailing out between coughing fits.
That’s about all I have time to report on today as now that I am feeling better, I must WRITE!
