Who wants to win a signed copy of Servant of the Crown!
In my fantasy series Heir to the Crown, I have introduced my readers to the realms of Merceria, Norland, Weldwyn(Westland), and The Twelve Kingdoms, but these are only a small part of the world of….
Hmmm, when one creates a fantasy realm, one really needs a name for the world that it is in, and this is where my idea of a contest came into play.
I am looking for suggestions of what to name the world that all the action is happening in. Of course, it needs to be original, unique, and something I can use in print.
The best suggestion will win signed copies of all four books in the series, with the next ten winning a signed copy of 'Servant of the Crown'!
The contest closes on November 22, 2018, so click below to enter, and to find out the submission guidelines.
Just over a week ago I released my fourth book, Heart of the Crown, and I am happy to say that it has been well received!
Glad to hear so many of my readers enjoyed it, and I can't wait to share Shadow of the Crown this winter!

Last year, when I released my first book, the anticipation was palpable. I nervously waited to see if anybody would want to read what I had written.
First, there were a couple of pre-orders from family members, then on the third day, a sale that was from somebody I did not know! It was official; I was a writer.
With each subsequent book that I released, the number of people reading my books grew, but I never expected what happened today. In less than 24 hours, more people have added my new book to their to be read list than what I sold in my first two months as a published author.
Choosing to become a writer is something I have dreamed of since my early 20's. To see it coming to fruition now inspires me to keep writing and sharing my imagination. I have so many more adventures in the realm of Merceria to share.
Thank you to every single person who has chosen to read one of my books. I hope you enjoy the adventures as much as I did creating them.
It is hard to believe that this time last year I revealed the cover of my first book Servant of the Crown. The journey this past year has been amazing mixed in with a bit of stress as we learn all that is involved in being a self-published author in the digital 21st century.
I want to thank every person that has read one of my books, and especially my reader teams who have made this my best book so far! Additionally, a huge shout out to Christie Kramberger who dealt with my last minute cover changes with calmness, and efficiently created a cover that truly symbolizes the book within.
Without further ado, I would like to reveal my new book cover! Heart of the Crown is available for pre-order now, and will be released on September 18, 2018.
For as long as he can remember, Alric dreamed of being a hero; of defeating a dragon and saving the princess, but his royal position would never allow it, until…
The arrival of the Mercerian Emissaries demands a princely escort, and being neither the heir, nor the spare, he is the perfect choice. Used to a lifetime of comfort and ease, he expects this duty to be as tiresome as all the others.
His tranquil life is upended from the beginning, as havoc seems to follow these dignitaries everywhere, causing him all sorts of grief. From fighting unknown creatures to defending the life of a royal, he discovers that becoming a hero is much more dangerous than he ever imagined. No matter what the outcome, his life will never be the same.
Heart of the Crown is book three in the Heir to the Crown series. If you like contests of skill, courtly intrigue and diplomatic disasters, then you will love Paul J Bennett's tale of a prince who desires greatness.
Pre-order your copy of Heart of the Crown soon, and witness the dream become a reality.

About two months ago, I had 12 x 18 photos of my book covers printed up to frame and put on the wall, but as happens frequently, life got busy and we put it on hold until after vacation.
Last night, we finally were able to set aside some time to put them up on the wall. We thought a quick 5 minutes and Bob's your uncle, pictures on the wall.
I only wish!
It took nearly an hour between finding the wire for the back of the frames, and then searching for a hammer, nails and tape measure.
I have to say I am damn proud of how it looks, and it inspires me for the books to come, especially Heart of the Crown as it will be released in just under two weeks!
And, yes, I have already started writing Book 4: Shadow of the Crown, and am on target for a winter release!
After finishing book three, I was inspired to detail out more books (I already had up to book five outlined) and I now have all the way to book nine outlined, with a few more yet! Shadow of the Crown(Book 4) and Fate of the Crown (Book 5) are completely detailed chapter by chapter, and I have already started writing Book Four, working towards a late winter release.
Everyday as a writer, I am more and more inspired! As if I didn't have enough in the pipeline, over my holidays, I found an old Science Fiction story that I started about ten years ago, and I can't stop thinking about it. The Alexander Drake Saga will be my first foray into the Sci-Fi realm, but not until 2020, as I have two other Fantasy Series I want to write before. If only I had a time machine!
I was surfing the web yesterday, when I was directed to a story on CNN. I was completely gobsmacked to see my book being advertised by Barnes & Noble! Now Servant of the Crown is in the top 1,000 bestselling books on their site, and it is in the top 50 for Fantasy novels, of which there are over 40,000.
Just wanted to share this wonderful moment with you!
